Installing high-flow fuel injectors is smart, but if your fuel system can’t supply them with enough fuel, they can’t perform. This Adjustable Fuel pressure Regulator is capable of supplying enough fuel for an engine making up to 1000 horsepower, far more capacity than the stock unit. It’s adjustable from 20 psi to maximum fuel pump capacity and the patented interchangeable discharge ports can match the regulator output to the output of virtually any fuel pump. A common problem with the fixed orifice in an ordinary regulator is that the fuel pressure cannot be effectively controlled when the fuel pump volume is significantly higher than stock. If the orifice is too small there is a large pressure spike associated with rapid deceleration because the orifice cannot flow enough fuel when the diaphragm is fully deflected to the open position. This causes a momentary rich condition, which may lead to a rough idle quality until the pressure stabilizes. Conversely, if the discharge orifice is too large it becomes difficult to adjust the fuel pump pressure because the response of the fuel flow out of the orifice is too rapid, which makes the adjustment screw too sensitive. The AEM Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator comes with 3 orifice sizes, 0.100″, 0.150″, and 0.200 to dial in the discharge port size. The orifice is easily changed once the diaphragm is removed and the procedure is detailed in the included instructions. This high volume fuel rail has a 1/2 fuel bore that can provide enough fuel for an engine making 1000 horsepower! The large bore also dampens backpressure pulses created by larger injectors, but it also works fine with stock injectors. Either the original factory fuel pressure regulator or the AEM adjustable fuel pressure regulator can be installed on the fuel rail with no modifications. The AEM High Volume Fuel Rail is a great way to increase the fuel flow in this portion of your fuel system. Its 1/2 bore is big enough to support fuel flow for applications up to 1000 horsepower! It also dampens the backpressure created by big injectors. The High Volume Fuel Rail is set-up for a modified fuel system, but it will also work with your stock components.
